ALPS

It's been two years since Yorgos Lanthimos's Dogtooth chased a chill up our spine and put a smile on our face. A smile that got even bigger when the absurdist tragicomedy chockfull of awkward sex and unexpected violence got nominated for an Oscar. In Lanthimos's latest Alps we are introduced into a universe that is equally strange, but even more grim, more uncomfortable and just plain sad. The Alps - led by bossy Mont Blanc - are for hire. For a small fee they will stand in for your deceased loved ones. When one of the Alps starts to prefer her fake identity over her own, things get... well, even weirder.
